Support Group

Over the last few years a few hundred children have been adopted from Liberia by American parents. There is no doubt that these parents deeply love their kids and mean the best for them. Given the huge cultural difference between the USA and Liberia, these adoptive families would need some assistance in helping their new children to keep in touch with their Liberian roots and grow up to have a true sense of who they are. It is in view of this desire to help that this Internet group was established. This group will discuss and find solutions to social and cultural issues that may be encountered by the American parents and acculturation difficulties that may be faced by the adopted children. The sole purpose of this group is to help the families succeed in their transitioning of their newly adopted child into their families. Feel free to join at:
